WHERE TO GET TEXTBOOK

This semester the textbook is included in the chemistry kit. So if you are taking the lab CHM107LL, you don't have to worry about getting a textbook. If you are only taking the lecture class (CHM107), then you can get the book from the sources shown below, or contact me for textbook.

1. The title for the book for this class is "Chemistry in Context" with a subtitle of "Applying Chemistry to Society."

2. To save you money I'm using the third edition instead of the 4th edition. The Third edition has copyrights dates of 1999 and 2000. It's current enough for what we need; plus we have the Internet for up-to-date information.

3. There are 4 authors, Stanistski, Eubanks, Middlecamp, and Stratton. So you may see one or more their names in the listing for the book.

4. The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) for the book is 0-697-36024-5. Note: you may see this number without the hyphens.

5. The best place to buy the book is www.half.com.
At www.half.com you can click the Textbook tab at the top and do a search by either title, "Chemistry in Context" or preferably the ISBN number 0-697-36024-5. Since this book has different editions, the ISBN number helps ensure the right one.

6. The basic color of the book is green, with a spider web image on it. The lab book looks similar, but you don't want the lab book. We won't being using a published lab book. You'll be getting those instructions online.

7. In today's world, finding information on the Web is one of the skills you need to develop for the class.

If you run into any problems or have questions, plaase let me know. I'm here to make it easier for you take the class.
